A: The final day to sign up for hair & makeup is Monday, July 17th

Q: When will I receive my hair & makeup appointment time?
A: Individual hair & makeup appointments will be posted inside the ballroom on Friday evening.

Q: What if I have an early hair & makeup appointment? Will I still look okay for the stage show?
A: Yes! Our team is experts in long lasting beautiful makeup that will stay all day. The products and technique Lauren has taught her team is perfect for pageants, celebrity red carpet and bridal which all have long hour days.

Q: What if I only want my hair & makeup done for one day? Can I pay less?
A: Unfortunately, no. This a package offer. You can choose not to have your hair or makeup done both days,
but the price will be the same.

Q: What if I only want my hair done or only my makeup? Can I pay less?
A: Unfortunately, no. This is a package offer. You can choose to only have one service done, but the price will be the same.

Q: Where will hair & makeup take place?
A: The hair and makeup room will be located in the Repertory Theater at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College. Interview Hair & Makeup services will take place on the bottom floor of the conference space at the host hotel (Room TBD).

Q: I have allergies, what do I do?
A: Please list any concerns you may have to your artist/stylist and please bring your own product(s) that you know you are not allergic to.

Q: I have a product/products that I LOVE. What if I want to use my own?
A: If you have a foundation or lip shade that you love, feel free to
bring it with you and we will use it when we apply your makeup.

Q: Do your artists have experience with all skin tones and hair textures?
A: Yes! Our artists are extremely well rounded and have experience and expertise working with
all skin tones and hair types/textures.

Q: I’m not sure what I want my hair / makeup to look like. Can you help?
A: Yes absolutely! We suggest you begin looking through Pinterest or other social media, including @lauren_damelio and @dameliocosmetics to find several hair and/or make-up photos that you like. We will create a look based on what you like that will fit you, and help you create the look you are hoping to achieve. We will also have pageant looks on a vision board onsite that you can pick from!

Q: Are you able to blow dry my hair if I come with it wet or partially wet?
A: NO. While we do have enough time to style everyone’s hair, we do NOT have time to blow dry contestant’s hair. It is IMPARATIVE that you come to your appointment with FULLY dry / smooth hair. If you arrive with wet or partially wet hair, you will be sent to your room to dry your hair and we will do our best to squeeze you in at the end of the day prior to the pageant.

Q: Can I choose my own hair style?
A: Of course! That said, our stylists will not be doing updos or blowouts. Updos are not ideal hairstyles for pageants. You want the judges focused on your face, not the back of your head. Stylists can curl, wave or straighten your hair and then style it. Recommended styles are as follows: Down curls, Hollywood waves, Half Up/Half Down and Ponytails.

Q: What do I do if I have clip in extensions?
A: If you know how to put your clip in extensions in, please do so before you arrive to the hair & makeup room. If you do not have experience with clip in extensions, bring them with you and we will put them in for you.

Q: Can I change my look in between the Activewear (Teen) | Swim (Miss) competitions and the Gown competition?
A: No.  The look that you leave the room with is the look that you will wear for the duration of the competition. We will not have time to change hair or makeup styles in between competitions. If you want to change your look from Prelims to Finals, we can absolutely style you differently the following day. That said, it is recommended to keep a similar look,
so the judges will recognize and remember you!

Q: I have more questions…Who can I ask?
A: If you have additional questions, please email us at: info@missnewyorkusa.com
Someone will get back to you within 48 hours.
